Atlas

As you traveled to Drasil to investigate the ailment that had spread from the life tree throughout the forest, you were each mentally assaulted by illusions. All but Hyram and Akbar fought out unscathed, and you eventually faced a yellow, skeletal, bat-winged tiefling. He claimed that York had set his soul here as a guardian of a realm claimed for the god of undeath and secrets. Several rounds of nasty arrows and a soul reave later, Atlas’s shade was wiped from the face of the material plane and the upper lands of Ruslan were freed.

Hyram revealed the creature’s history: he was once Thane, a companion of Hyram’s 200 years ago and a part of the team that betrayed Hyram, Dignam, and several others to join York upon his ascension to godhood. In turn, Thane was named an ex-arch and was instrumental in unifying the southern cities of Antenora to form the city of Atlas. He ruled over this new city for 6 years and created a substantial Cult of Personality there before fleeing to the continent in an attempt to escape York’s influence and create his own mischief. He was re-captured soon after by his god and his soul was harvested and stored until York needed it again, 15 years ago, to guard his claim to Drasil.
